One Day without Shoes Posted from East Valley Tribune
Many of us like to go barefoot when we can, but imagine never wearing shoes while you go about your daily life. After learning that millions of people in developing countries become infected with diseases from walking without shoes, Katelyn Moses decided to take action.

The Gilbert Christian High School junior organized an event in which she and about 50 classmates went without shoes for 24 hours, even coming to school barefoot.
Katelyn also raised $293 by selling bracelets for God Feet, a Queen Creek Christian ministry that provides people with shoes. The money will purchase about 30 pairs of shoes for missions serving the needy, Katelyn said in a news release.
“We are so proud of Katelyn and the students who joined her at Gilbert Christian High School,” said David Gillette, CEO and President of God Feet. “After walking on the hot Arizona pavement, over rocks and gravel, in dirt and mud it really makes you appreciate the blessings of shoes.”

Late last year, a little before Christmas, a Queen Creek couple launched God Feet, a line of sandals designed to serve God, help the poor and make a little money.
David and Shannon Gillette say their company, which sells flip-flops inscribed with Bible verses and Christian symbols, is the nation's first faith-inspired shoe company. For every pair sold, the Gillettes will donate a pair to someone who needs shoes.
David is listed as company president and Shannon as vice president, but that's only a formality.
